# Privacy and permissions

> Understand which permissions Talkturo Desktop requests and why they matter.

Talkturo Desktop asks for permissions so it can support you during calls.

## Permissions you may see

* **Microphone access** to process your side of the conversation.
* **Screen recording access** to support call context features on your device.
* **Data protection prompts** to keep your local experience secure.

## What to do on first setup

1. Approve each permission when prompted.
2. If you deny one by accident, reopen your system privacy settings and enable it.
3. Restart Talkturo Desktop if the prompt asks for it.

## Practical privacy tip

Only enable the permissions required for the features you actively use.

## When permissions are missing

If a permission is not granted, some live assistance features may not start until you enable it.
